SurePods recently finished manufacturing and installing 21 custom bathroom pods for our supporting parent company, DPR Construction. Their new 100,00 sq. ft. regional prefabrication research and development center, Genesis, is located in Durham, North Carolina. The facility is at The Keith’s Corporation site and a part of the 104-acre Research Triangle Park (RTP).
DPR Construction understands the value of prefabrication construction and its significant impact on any job. Our bathroom pods were essential in the Genesis project’s prefabricated construction approach. SurePods specializes in minimizing clients' construction timelines and budgets.
Genesis custom pods were manufactured at SurePods’ east facility in Orlando, Florida,
and delivered directly to the job site in Durham. Genesis is a valuable asset to the surrounding buildings and operations in the Research Triangle Park. It offers new space for the park’s companies that focus on various biotechnologies, pharmaceuticals, and other life sciences. The Genesis facility will essentially be a “living laboratory” that will develop prefabrication and virtual design techniques in the architecture and engineering industries.
SurePods and DPR construction significantly align with our dedication to sustainable methodologies throughout the build process. Our bathroom pods minimize onsite and offsite material waste and energy by building pods "made-to-order" with their unique specifications. At the start of SurePods' manufacturing process, integrated CAD/CAM systems and BIM models deliver pod dimensions directly to production.
This made-to-order approach ensures each piece will be appropriately measured and cut the first time, with little to no errors. After the pods are delivered to the job site, each bathroom is positioned and cemented in place with plug-and-play electrical and plumbing setups.
DPR Construction’s Genesis project integrates all of SurePods best practices, from efficient manufacturing to accelerated delivery and installation. These practices will add to DPR Construction’s facility goal of Net-Zero Energy, WELL Silver, and LEED Certification.
